The Best Styles of Jewelry to Wear in Cold Weather

The Best Styles of Jewelry to Wear in Cold Weather

Stephanie here, and it?s FINALLY cooling down in the southeast! Although I do love the color changing leaves and pumpkin spice lattes that make Fall my all-time favorite season, Winter is the season of scarves and sparkle, and I can not wait!! Though it?s not holiday season and snow isn?t falling just yet, it?s important to be prepared to accessorize in style! MYTH: Jewelry is impossible?to wear in cold weather. Along with colder weather comes bulky scarves, oversized sweaters, and adorable mittens. Even though all of these accessories make for a super cute outfit, there is little exposed skin left to show off your beautiful jewelry! The truth is: there are plenty of subtle jewelry styles to don during the colder temps. 1. Long Necklaces These are so IN! Long chains with a stone or pendant can instantly spice up your style! If your outfit ever needs a little bit more flash to it even after adding a scarf, layer a statement necklace underneath to give your look an extra pop! When in doubt, I go for the gold to add that instant flashiness! 2. Flat Rings Scarves may be warm and cozy, but if the fabric catches on your raised designer rings, you could possibly damage the scarf and the ring! Protect your most prized fashion possessions?by wearing an…

Halloween Jewelry You Can Wear All Year!

Halloween Jewelry You Can Wear All Year!

Halloween is right around the corner so of course, I am getting in the spirit with my jewelry this year! While there?s plenty of silly/tacky Halloween jewelry out there that will be perfect to complete your costume, it?s easy to stay fashionable with your jewelry around Halloween as well. As I?ve mentioned in the past, punk jewelry is coming back strong this fall. Punk jewelry can be perfect for Halloween, and don?t be afraid to add a little spooky flare. Here are some of my favorite themes to follow. Bad to the Bone I personally love skeleton jewelry, and it can work with certain looks year round. A rib cage cuff or knuckle ring is a perfect way to really transform an outfit from ordinary to edgy. This ring pictured here by Stephen Webster is so chic! You can also add some skeleton style to your outfit with a skull and crossbones necklace or handbag. Creepy Crawlers Snakes and spiders really bring out the Halloween spirit, but when the holiday season is over, you can still rock this theme with no problem. In fact, gold and silver snake necklaces can liven up pretty much any outfit. This one pictured here by Avant Garde Paris is very classy. A set of spider earrings or a spider brooch can also be worn…

Wedding Day Jewelry for the Bride

Wedding Day Jewelry for the Bride

In the past, I?ve spent time focusing on jewelry for wedding guests as well as engagement and wedding rings; however, I have yet to discuss the bride?s jewelry for her wedding day! Bridal jewelry is always a fun topic, because it revolves around a beautiful couple celebrating their love and happiness. A woman?s wedding day is one of the most important days of her life. Looking the best from head to toe is absolutely essential. Determining what jewelry looks best for your wedding day can be a whirlwind. Your personal style, your wedding?s theme/feel, and your wedding gown will all be major factors when choosing your pieces. Not only will your gown?s color come into play, but also your gown?s fit and neckline will play a role. Let me help you navigate your way to the perfect bridal jewelry look for your wedding with some simple advice. First, let the color of your wedding gown guide you to an overall color for your jewelry. If your dress is pure white, stay away from gold jewelry, because it will clash. With a pure white gown, it is best to stick to either pearl or platinum jewelry. For an ivory gown, gold jewelry looks best because of the gold undertones in the ivory color. For a diamond white gown, which is slightly…

What Jewelry to Wear While Hiking

What Jewelry to Wear While Hiking

Now that fall is here, it?s only a matter of time before it starts to cool down a little and the leaves begin to change color. Fall is the perfect time of year to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of nature. I love going on hikes with my friends or even on a date with a new guy! It?s the perfect setting to get to know one another. Of course, I can?t go anywhere?especially on a date?without throwing on some kind of bling. While wearing jewelry to go hiking definitely isn?t necessary, I have some tips just in case you want to glitz up your outdoor outfit. The first thing to be aware of when accessorizing for a hike is the material of your jewelry. While everyday jewelry is usually silver or gold, you should go more natural when out in nature. Try choosing jewelry that is made of leather or hemp. I have a leather-braided bracelet I wear when going outdoors that is super cute and matches everything. With more natural materials, your jewelry will blend in with the environment around you, and it will also be more resilient to the outdoors! The material of your jewelry is important for style, but it?s also important for practicality as well. You want your pieces to be water and sweat…

Cleaning and Caring For Your Jewelry

Cleaning and Caring For Your Jewelry

When investing in fine jewelry, it is so important to keep your collection cleaned and cared for. By taking good care of your jewelry, it will keep its value longer and continue to look fabulous as you wear it year after year. We often overlook the smallest details that can make a big difference when it comes to cleaning and maintenance. I?m definitely no exception. Because I wear them so often, I sometimes forget to take care of my favorite pieces. So to help you (and myself) out, I?m going to give some tips that will ensure your jewelry looks its best every day.? 1.Wearing The first part of caring for your jewelry is knowing when you should actually wear it. I have a favorite silver bracelet that I keep on at all times. I even forget to take it off at the gym, which is not good! Sweat and water can harm your jewelry over time, so make sure you remove your jewelry for bathing, manual labor, and active events. Also, don?t put your jewelry on in the mornings until after you have applied lotion, makeup, and perfume. Harsh chemicals can cause your jewelry to tarnish more quickly. Being more mindful of when you should take your jewelry off will help it look better for longer when you have…
